La Plata County Local Elections Questionnaire

Restore the Balance La Plata sent a questionnaire to all candidates in our local competitive elections for County Coroner, County Treasure, and Colorado House District 59.  We are grateful for the thoughtful responses received from County Coroner candidate Trever Nyx, County Treasurer Candidate Moni Grushkin, and Colorado House of Representatives District 59 candidate Katie Stewart.  Unfortunately, we did not receive responses from Cathy Seibel, Miles Walsh, and Naomi Riess so we cannot comment on their qualifications for office. 

We rated the respondents, Trever Nyx, Moni Grushkin and Katie Stewart, based upon aligning with Restore the Balance’s principles, putting public interest ahead of party, holding appropriate qualifications for the office they are seeking, and grasping the issues facing Western Colorado. We found each scored highly and that they appear to be anti-extremist candidates that would put their duties and constituents above party or partisanship.
